New generation in stope design and performance software

"MineRoc is a software developed by the Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC) at the University of Chile with the support of FONDEF. It serves as a support tool for the design and planning of underground minning using Sublevel Stoping"

Benefits of Mineroc

Establish standards for stope design.

Incorporate geological information into the design.

Analyze the condition of stability and dilution of stope.

Perform design sensitivity analysis based on local mine conditions.

Projects

Inventory of operational and design practices for medium-scale underground minning in Chile

In situ stress model for Chile and its impact on underground mining design.

Development of design tool for the stability of excavations with personnel acces.

Design methodology for post-pillar cut & fill.

New empirical design formula for rock pillars strength.

Statistical evaluation of adjustment factors of the Mathews' methodology and their impact on empirical stope design.

Numerical modeling of Overbreak in underground mining exploited by Sublevel Stoping.

Evaluation of the blasting effect of stability and dilution of ore drives in selective underground mining.

Numerical stress modeling for empirical methods of stope stability.

Modules

Site Conditions

This module builds the geotechnical units considering: Rock Mass Properties (UCS, Young Modulus, Hoek & Brown criteria) and Rock Mass Classification (RQD, RMR, Q, GSI). Finally it builds and stress model using on-site stress measurement

Stope Performance & Mine Design

This Module estimate stope stability and overbreak (per wall). Development of backanalysis and automatic estimation of overbreak

Stope Performance & Mine Design

This Module allows the assessent of the size of stopes along with their geotechnical characteristics by adding their walls on the stability chart

Database Manager

This Module manage historical cases collected using Stope-Performance module. Filter and select information. Make stability curves adjustments. Evaluate literature curves: Mawdesley, Potvin, Clark and Paklnis.

Mine Exploration

This Module explore component of the mine. Allows a complete visualiation of stability graph and a 3D visualization of all collected stopes.
